Fishing Owyhee Reservoir

Spring is here and that means fishing.  This last weekend I was able to tag along with a good friend and head over to Owyhee Reservoir for some bass and crappie.  Although we were a little early and only were able to haul in a moderate amount of bass and a few crappie, I have high hopes that as the month of May progresses that we will really be able to start hauling them in.  We had some pretty good stories this trip, losing a part of the fish finder into the reservoir, losing our stringer of fish, and running out of gas on the way back because of a serious head wind.  All classic examples of how an innocent trip into the outdoors can turn into a very memorable and cherished experience with lots of good stories to share afterwards with friends and family, and also great times to relive again down the road with those that were there.  So always remember that when you get the chance to go out with others, even if your normally one who likes to do things alone.  It may just end up being a lot more of a rewarding experience then you thought it would be.

The scenery at Owyhee Reservoir is beyond incredible.  It's hard to believe this kind of country exists in Idaho if you don't make it south of McCall.  It's like a whole different world...but one I highly recommend exploring it if you get the chance.
