Bear in my belly

I had taken my bear to the butcher shortly after I got it, and a few weeks ago he called and said that it was ready.  I got it all made into summer sausage.

It ended up being roughly 30 lbs worth.  Eight logs measuring about 2-feet long by about 3-inches in diameter.  It was a hit right off the bat and we put down a log and a half within the first two weeks.  I sent two logs up north, one to my dad, and one to my uncle.  The rest I cut in halves and froze so we are able to enjoy them for the rest of the year.

I'll for sure be chasing after these bruins as much as I can each spring.  This hunt and it's rewards were a tremendous gift indeed.

Midday break

It's a beautiful day today in the Treasure Valley and I needed a break from cubicle land. So I strolled over and took a short walk along the Boise river. It's only about a 100 yards over to the river from our office, which I couldn't be happier about. It allows a welcome rest from the work day. And a good place to gather your thoughts and relax.

I've also posted most of this from my iPhone just to check it out and see how intuitive the process is to accomplish it.  That app could use some work, as I am here finishing up this post online.  Anyways...back to work.
