This last Saturday my oldest daughter got her Jr. hunting license. She'll be 12 in September when she officially gets her license that allows her to hunt big game.
Hunting isn't for everyone, but there are certainly a lot of rewards. The most rewarding one...you get to be outside! My kids have grown up around hunting so they love doing it, but I think they also just love the chance to get out of the house and away from the noise, smells, and stress of the city. The wilderness is a great place. I hope she will grow up enjoying it as much as I have.
"All really wild scenery is attractive. The true hunter, the true lover of wilderness, loves all parts of the wilderness, just as the true lover of nature loves all seasons. There is no season of the year when the country is not more attractive than the city; and there is no portion of the wilderness, where game is found, in which it is not a keen pleasure to hunt." -- Theodore Roosevelt

Passport to adventure
It's hard to believe that it's taken Idaho this long to get with the program, but starting next year you can get your annual state park pass at the same time you register your vehicle at the DMV. This is a good thing, as the past few years an annual parks pass has cost me $40 for one vehicle, and it was a lot more inconvenient to get the pass then it would be with this new method. If you want more information click on the following link The Idaho State Parks Passport.
